Obama Adds an App to Facebook
Barrack Obama has 81,114 supporters on Facebook. He also has hired Facebook founder Chris Hughes.
Facebook launched Facebook Platform a few days ago which makes third party applications available for your Facebook profile. These apps range from Causes to Twitter to Obama ‘08. The Institute for Politics Democracy & the Internet Blog said that the Obama Facebook app took Facebook campaigning to the next level…I would agree.
By using the Obama app, your Facebook profile features campaign videos and news. It also tells you which of your Facebook friends are in states where there is something going on…
There is also an opportunity to sign up for email and a campaign news feed. Facebook is made up of networks that are local. Local? Yes local is important for national campaigns.

This Facebook app leverages the influence of friends on a local level. You used to have to come to my house to see my lawn sign or park behind me in my driveway to see my bumper sticker….now you just have to be visit my Facebook profile; stay awhile and catch the video "Meet Michele." Yes, this is a new level…one giant step forward for social media in the campaign.
